After carrying some loads to Camp 1, the team took a rest day at Base Camp.
They’re now ready to keep going and the plan is to move to Camp 1.

AP 8 – At Base Camp!
A.P. 8 (Jan. 12 – 23, 2024)
The team continued the approach hike this morning and successfully got to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp.
They’re now at 14,200 feet. They’re resting there before moving higher.

AP 7 – Summit!

They reached the summit today!
It was a very cold and windy day, but they got to the top of the Americas!
They did a great job working as a team. They’re now back at Base Camp.

The team took a rest day today.
We spoke with Sebastián, their lead guide, who said they’re getting everything ready for tomorrow, as they plan to tackle the summit.

AP 8 – The adventure begins!
A.P. 8 (Jan. 12 – 23, 2024)
The team left the city early this morning and started the approach hike along the Horcones Valley.
They’ve already reached Confluencia Camp, where they’re spending one night. They’ll continue to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp tomorrow.
The lead guide is Rolo Abaca, who will keep us updated calling us by satellite phone.

AP 7 – At Camp 2!

The team left Camp 1 this morning and successfully moved to Camp 2.
They’ll plan their next steps according to the weather conditions.

The team carried some loads to Camp 1 yesterday.
After that, they descended to Base Camp to spend the night, which is great for their acclimatization process.
Today they moved to Camp 1.

The team carried some loads to High Camp yesterday and they moved there today.
They’re planning to tackle the summit tomorrow, so they’re getting ready for the big day!

AP 7 – Base Camp
A.P. 7 (Jan. 6 – 17, 2024)
The team successfully finished the approach hike, reaching Plaza de Mulas Base Camp yesterday.
They’re now at 14,200 feet. They took a rest day to get used to this altitude.
Their next step is to carry some loads to Camp 1.

AP 7 – A new expedition begins!
A.P. 7 (Jan. 6 – 17, 2024)
This great team left the city today!
They were taken to the trailhead and have already started the approach hike to Base Camp.
The group is now hiking along the Horcones Valley towards Confluencia Camp, where they’ll spend their first night in the mountains. Tomorrow they’ll continue to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp.
Their lead guide is Sebastián Ruiz, who is assisted by Luchi Marún and Javier Vega.
