    Camp 2

    A.P. 1 (Dec. 1 – Dec. 12)

    The team successfully reached Camp 2 yesterday.

    Today they took a rest day there. The group is motivated and getting used to the altitude. They are planning to move to High Camp tomorrow.

    The group is in great condition and has already left Canada Camp today.

    They are now moving to Camp 2, which is also called Nido de Cóndores Camp, located at 17,651′.

    The team is doing a great job as they move uphill and start gaining more altitude.

  • Move to Canada Camp

    Move to Canada Camp

    A.P. 1 (Dec. 1 – Dec. 12)

    The team carried some loads to Canada Camp yesterday and returned to Base Camp to sleep.

    They woke up this morning and after having breakfast they moved to Canada Camp. They are all doing great and the guides will plan the following steps according to the weather conditions.

  • Rest day at Base Camp

    Rest day at Base Camp

    A.P. 1 (Dec. 1 – Dec. 12)

    The team spent the day resting at Plaza de Mulas Base Camp. They had good meals and stayed hydrated, which is key for the acclimatization.

    Tomorrow they will carry some loads to Canada Camp and then go back down to Base Camp to spend the night.

    The photo above shows the group during the approach hike at the beginning of the expedition with a stunning view of the Aconcagua South Face at the back.

  • Base Camp!

    Base Camp!

    A.P. 1 (Dec. 1 – Dec. 12)

    The team started the hike yesterday, enjoying a great view of Aconcagua, surrounded by a beautiful landscape. As you can see in the picture taken at the trailhead, they were all excited to start the adventure.

    They spent the night at Confluencia Camp yesterday and today continued hiking along the Horcones Valley.

    They have successfully arrived to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp, reaching an altitude of 14,200′. The group will be taking a rest day there tomorrow.

  • First team of the season ready for Aconcagua!

    First team of the season ready for Aconcagua!

    A.P. 1 (Dec. 1 – Dec. 12)

    Our first trip of the season is already on its way to the mountains!

    They had a meeting last night to get to know each other and go through all the details of the itinerary. They were all very excited to leave the city this morning!

    This expedition will only last 12 days, as they came here already pre-acclimatized, using an Altitude Training System with a hypoxic tent.

    The group will be ascending the Normal Route, hiking towards Confluencia Camp today, along the Horcones Valley. After spending the night there, they will head to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp tomorrow.

    The team is led by the experienced guide Rolo Abaca, who is assisted by Pablo Goldengruss and Sebastián Satke. They will keep us updated calling us with a satellite phone.

  • Last trip of the season gets a team of 10 to the top!

    Last trip of the season gets a team of 10 to the top!

    A.P. 11 (Feb. 16 – Mar. 7, 2019)

    They made it to the summit!

    After a long and challenging day, they reached the top of the highest mountain in America. They stood at 22,834′! This is also the highest peak out of the Himalayas.

    They worked hard and made a great effort, having an unforgettable experience!

    The team is spending the night at High Camp and tomorrow they will continue to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp. The following day they will finish the Aconcagua Traverse hiking down the Horcones Valley and they will return to the city.

    Congratulations for this big achievement!

    The group moved to High Camp today. Tomorrow they will go to the summit, so they are getting ready for the big day!

    The team is fine and now at 19,200′. We will post more news as soon as we hear from them.

    Carry to High Camp

    A.P. 11 (Feb. 16 – Mar. 7, 2019)

    The team already carried some loads to High Camp today and everyone is fine.

    After that, they went back down to Camp 2 to spend the night.

    Tomorrow they will plan their next steps according to the weather, they might move to High Camp.

    They kept moving uphill and already reached Camp 2 today.

    Wesley, the lead guide, called to say the whole group is fine and they safely got to 17,500′.
