    More news of the 12-day expedition

    A.P. 10 (Feb. 2 – 13, 2019)

    They already left Camp 1 and successfully moved to Camp 2, reaching an altitude of 17,650′.

    The team is fine and ready to take a rest day there tomorrow, before keep moving uphill.

    At Camp 2

    A.P. 8 (Jan. 31 – Feb. 20, 2019)

    They successfully moved to Camp 2 today. They are working hard on their way uphill and they are now at 17,500′.

    The team is getting everything ready for tomorrow, because they are planning to move to High Camp.

    12-day expedition at Camp 1

    A.P. 10 (Feb. 2 – 13, 2019)

    The team woke up at Base Camp and after having breakfast, they moved to Camp 1.

    They are at 16,200′. They are doing a great job and feeling very motivated.

    They are at Base Camp

    A.P. 9 (Feb. 2 – 21, 2019)

    The team is fine and successfully completed the 3-day approach hike along the Vacas and Ameghino Valleys. Their first stop was at Pampa de Leñas and the following day they continued to Casa de Piedra.

    Today the group woke up and continued to Plaza Argentina Base Camp. They have gradually gained altitude and are now at 13,800′.

  • Successful move to Camp 1

    Successful move to Camp 1

    A.P. 8 (Jan. 31 – Feb. 20, 2019)

    The team left Base Camp this morning and moved to Camp 1.

    They are doing a great job while they gain altitude. Today they reached 16,300′. They will plan the next days according to the weather conditions.

    The group rested at Base Camp today.

    We spoke with Sebastián, the lead guide, who said they are fine and getting used to the altitude.

    Tomorrow they will move to Camp 1.

    The team spent the night at Confluencia Camp yesterday.

    Today the group continued hiking along the Horcones Valley and successfully got to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp. They are now at 14,200′.

    Plaza Argentina Base Camp

    A.P. 8 (Jan. 31 – Feb. 20, 2019)

    The team hiked near Base Camp today, reaching the top of Mount Colorado. This will help them with the acclimatization process.

    Then, they went back to Base Camp and tomorrow they are planning to rest there.

    12-day expedition!

    A.P. 10 (Feb. 2 – 13, 2019)

    The team left the city early this morning, heading to the trailhead at Horcones. They had a group meeting yesterday and today they were ready to start the trip!

    They are led by the experienced guide Sebastián Satke and assisted by José Purto. This motivated group is ascending the Normal Route, spending their first night at Confluencia Camp.

    They will contact us with a satellite phone, so we can follow their steps as they move uphill.

  • Great team ready for the adventure!

    Great team ready for the adventure!

    A.P. 9 (Feb. 2 – 21, 2019)

    All the members of the team had a meeting with the guides yesterday. Later, they shared a tasty dinner together.

    The expedition is led by the mountain guide Rolo Abaca, who has years of experience and is assisted by Angela Cardenas.

    Today the group was excited to leave the city and go to Penitentes. They will spend the night at a hotel there.

    Tomorrow they will start the approach hike to Plaza Argentina Base Camp, which will take them three days to complete.

    They are taking a satellite phone with them to keep us updated.
