    At Base Camp!

    The team completed the 3-day approach hike and successfully reached Plaza Argentina Base Camp yesterday.

    They are getting used to the altitude, because the group is now at 13,800′.

    Today they are resting there, before moving uphill.

    Approach hike to Base Camp

    A.P. 8 (Jan. 31 – Feb. 20, 2019)

    The group left Penitentes yesterday and went to the trailhead at Punta de Vacas, where they took a great picture together.

    After that, they began the 3-day approach hike to Plaza Argentina Base Camp. Their first stop was at Pampa de Leñas and today they continued to Casa de Piedra.

  • Beginning of a great experience!

    Beginning of a great experience!

    A.P. 8 (Jan. 31 – Feb. 20, 2019)

    The team is ready for this big adventure! They already left the city and went to Penitentes to spend the night.

    Tomorrow they will start the approach hike along the Vacas and Ameghino Valleys. It will take them three days to reach Plaza Argentina Base Camp, while they gradually gain altitude.

    They are led by the mountain guide Sebastián Ruiz. He will keep us informed about their steps during the expedition.

  • Big achievement!

    Big achievement!

    A.P. 7 (Jan. 12 – 31, 2019)

    Everyone on the team got to the summit! A big achievement with 100% success.

    They got to the top of America at 22,834′. What a unique experience! They worked hard and reached the summit of the highest peak out of the Himalayas.

    The group will spend the night at High Camp and tomorrow they will continue to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp. The following day they will complete the Aconcagua Traverse along the Horcones Valley and come back to Mendoza.

  • At High Camp, getting ready for tomorrow!

    At High Camp, getting ready for tomorrow!

    A.P. 7 (Jan. 12 – 31, 2019)

    The team left Camp 2 this morning and successfully moved to High Camp, reaching an altitude of 19,200′.

    They are going to the summit tomorrow, so they are preparing everything for the big day! The group is fine and doing a great job.

  • Rest day at Camp 2

    Rest day at Camp 2

    A.P. 7 (Jan. 12 – 31, 2019)

    They rested at Camp 2 today, paying special attention to stay hydrated which is good for the acclimatization. The team also walked around with the crampons on near the camp.

    Tomorrow they will move to High Camp.

    They carried to High Camp

    The group carried some loads to High Camp today.

    Now they are back at Camp 2. The team is doing a great job and they will rest there tomorrow before keep moving uphill.

    At Camp 2

    We spoke with Sebastián, the lead guide, who said the group safely moved to Camp 2 today. They were about to have dinner and go to sleep.

    The team has reached an altitude of 17,500′ and they are planning to carry to High Camp tomorrow.

  • Moving to Camp 2 tomorrow!

    Moving to Camp 2 tomorrow!

    A.P. 7 (Jan. 12 – 31, 2019)

    The team already carried some loads to Camp 2 yesterday and returned to Camp 1. Today they had a rest day there. They are getting a good acclimatization as they go higher.

    Surrounded by a stunning landscape, the group is enjoying beautiful bright days, as the weather has been great so far.

    Tomorrow they will move to Camp 2.

    Successful move to Camp 1

    The team had breakfast at Base Camp and took a group picture before leaving this morning.

    Then they moved to Camp 1. They are now at 16,300′. The group is fine and motivated.
