  • Back in Mendoza!

    A.P. 2 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    We were glad to welcome everyone back to the city, after their amazing trip to the mountains.

    Yesterday the group had dinner together, sharing it with another expedition. They tasted a typical Argentinian barbecue, paired with great local wines.

    After all those days spent together, the group got the chance to share a delicious meal, before going back home.

    The pictures below show them on their way to the summit and enjoying dinner yesterday.

  • Moving to Canada Camp today

    A.P. 5 Dec. 27 – Jan. 7

    The team carried some loads to Canada Camp yesterday and hiked down to Base Camp, where they spent the night.

    We spoke with Julián, the lead guide, who said they were ready to move to Canada Camp today.

    We are excited to hear more news from them soon!

  • Resting at Base Camp

    A.P. 4 Dec. 27 – Jan. 15

    After the 3-day hike along the Vacas and Ameghino Valleys, the group reached Plaza Argentina Base Camp yesterday at 13,800′.

    Matías, the lead guide, called to tell us they are resting there today. The plan for tomorrow is to carry some loads to Camp 1 and hike back to Base Camp to spend the night.

    We will be posting more updates about their expedition soon.

  • Success! This season all of our expeditions have summited so far!

    A.P. 3 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    They successfully reached the summit today, enjoying this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

    They got to the highest point of the whole American continent and the highest mountain out of the Himalayas at 22,834′. This is a big achievement they will always remember!

    After spending some time at the summit, they hiked down to High Camp, getting a deserved rest there. Tomorrow they will continue descending towards Plaza de Mulas Base Camp.

  • They reached the summit!

    A.P. 2 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    After a great effort and working hard, they got to the summit! A unique and unforgettable experience!

    They stood on top of the highest mountain of America and the highest point out of the Himalayas, with an altitude of 22,834′.

    After this, they hiked down to High Camp to spend the night there, before descending tomorrow the Normal Route towards Plaza de Mulas Base Camp.

  • They are at Base Camp!

    The group reached Confluencia Camp yesterday and spent the night there.

    Today they continued hiking along the Horcones Valley, reaching Plaza de Mulas Base Camp at 13,800′.

    Julián, the lead guide, called to give us these news and said they are planning to rest there tomorrow.

  • Starting the approach hike

    A.P. 4 Dec. 27 – Jan. 15

    After having breakfast, the team started hiking today. This is the beginning of a great experience!

    The photo shows them at Punta de Vacas, ready to start the 3-day hike that will take them to Plaza Argentina Base Camp at 13,800′.

    They will spend the night at Pampa de Leñas and tomorrow they will continue to Casa de Piedra.

  • Ready for summit day!

    A.P. 3 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    The team successfully moved from Camp 2 to High Camp today. They are now at 19,200′.

    They are planning to go to the summit tomorrow!

    They will rest at High Camp and get ready for a long and challenging day.

    As soon as we hear from them, we will let you know.

  • Successful move to High Camp and getting ready for tomorrow!

    A.P. 2 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    After working hard as they moved uphill, the team reached High Camp today at 19,200′.

    They will rest there, as they are getting ready to tackle the summit tomorrow!

    They are all fine and planning to leave early in the morning.

    We are looking forward to having more news soon, we will keep you updated!

  • Aconcagua in 12 days!

    A.P. 5 Dec. 27 – Jan. 7

    The team left the city early this morning. They were ready to start the trip, very excited about the upcoming days!

    This expedition will only last 12 days, as they came here already pre-acclimatized, using an Altitude Training System with a hypoxic tent.

    They will be ascending the Normal Route, hiking towards Confluencia Camp along the Horcones Valley. After spending the night there, the group will head to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp tomorrow. The photo above shows them at the trailhead, ready to begin the hike.

    Their lead guide, Julián Castro, will keep us updated calling us with a satellite phone.

    As you can see in the picture below, the four climbers and their guide shared a meal last night, tasting some delicious steak.
