    The team carried gear to High Camp (19,200 ft) today, they passed the 6.000 m line!

    Rolo said that everybody did it great! They are going to sleep in Camp II tonigth and move to High Camp tomorrow.They may try to go to the summit on Friday, it depends on the weather.

    Today the group moved the loads to High Camp at almost 6000 m!They are doing a great job, hoping to reach the summit, but it depends on the weather. However, they all feel great and are very motivated.

  • The team left the city

    The team left the city

    AP 5 – Dec 27 – Jan 15
    Our fifth group of this season is in the lodge at Penitentes, where they are going to spend a night, eagerly waiting to go into the mountains.Tomorrow they will begin their 3-day hike to base camp Plaza Argentina (13800 ft). This hike is good to acclimatize.

    Before leave the group got together and had a dinner where they could enjoy the Mendoza beef and wine.

    The team is lead by the Mendocinian guide Cacho Beiza and assisted by Drew Dochstader. They are a nice team and they are going to have great time on the mountain.

  • Aconcagua in 12 days

    Aconcagua in 12 days

    AP 6 – Dec 27 – Jan 7

    Four climbers and a guide will climb the highest mountain in America in 12 days

    They came to the mountain already pre – acclimatized, using an Altitude Training System – Hypoxic tent where they acclimatized before.

    Guided by the experiment guide Wes Bunch they will do the normal route. The climbers left the city early this morning to begin their hike towards Camp Confluence where they will spend the nigth and then reach the base camp Plaza de Mulas (14,340 ft).

    Last night we shared a meeting and dinner in the city where they could enjoy Mendoza’s food and wine. They are a great team!

    Here’s a picture of them before leaving town.

    We will post more information every time we talk to them by the satellite telephone.

  • Camp II! 

    Camp II!

    The group reached Camp II (17,700 ft) today.

    They want to take advantage of the good weather so If everybody feels well tomorrow they will go to High Camp at almost 6000 m! If not they will rest at Camp II.

    Rolo said that everyone is fine and motivated, they are acclimatizing well and working hard.

  • Move to Camp II 

    Move to Camp II 

    AP 3 Dec 17 – Jan 5

    The team moved to the camp II  (17,700 ft) today.They are fine and very exicted trying to gain altitude while keeping the energy.

    They are now resting and tomorrow will see if they can move forward to the High Camp, at almost 6,000m (19,600 ft).

  • They arrived at camp I!

    The team made it safely to Camp I (16,000ft) today.

    Rolo said that everybody is fine and adapting to the high altitude. Besides the weather for the next few days is good, so they have the opportunity to keep going up.

    Anyway, tonight they will decide what to do tomorrow.

    The group reach Camp I (16,000ft) today.

    Everybody is fine and doing a great job, because of the days that they spent in the base camp they could acclimatize well. Tonight they will decide what they will do tomorrow.

  • Resting at base camp

    The team is still resting at base camp, they decided to stay a few days to gain a good acclimatization because in Plaza Argentina they have some services that they won’t have in height.

    The guide called to say that they are well and preparing to move to camp I tomorrow.

    The team is still resting at base camp and preparing to continue the carrying-acclimatization process where they will be carrying to a higher camp and then moving to that camp. Tomorrow they will move to Camp I

    Everyone is doing great, according to the forecast the weather will be good in the next days.
