    SUMMIT! 

    AP 3 Dec 17 – Jan 5

    The team finally reached the summit today! They stood at 22,834 ft looking to the rest of the Andes below. Congratulations to them!

    The group is going back to High Camp and will go to Plaza de Mulas base camp tomorrow, completing the Aconcagua Traverse, from there they will hike to the trailhead.

    Tomorrow is the big day

    The team reach High Camp 19,200 ft today. They are at almost 6000 m! If the weather allows them tomorrow they will try to reach the summit.They will get up early and after breakfast they will begin the to the top of the highest peak outside of Himalayas.

  • Carry to High Camp

    Today the group moved the loads to High Camp at almost 6000 m!They are doing a great job, hoping to reach the summit, but it depends on the weather. However, they all feel great and are very motivated.

  • Move to Camp II 

    Move to Camp II 

    AP 3 Dec 17 – Jan 5

    The team moved to the camp II  (17,700 ft) today.They are fine and very exicted trying to gain altitude while keeping the energy.

    They are now resting and tomorrow will see if they can move forward to the High Camp, at almost 6,000m (19,600 ft).

    The group reach Camp I (16,000ft) today.

    Everybody is fine and doing a great job, because of the days that they spent in the base camp they could acclimatize well. Tonight they will decide what they will do tomorrow.

  • Resting at base camp

    The team is still resting at base camp, they decided to stay a few days to gain a good acclimatization because in Plaza Argentina they have some services that they won’t have in height.

    The guide called to say that they are well and preparing to move to camp I tomorrow.

  • Successful carry to Camp I

    Successful carry to Camp I

    AP 3 Dec 17 – Jan 5

    The team had successfully carry the load to camp 1(16,000 ft) yesterday. They started the carrying-acclimatization process where they will be carrying to a higher camp and then moving to that camp.

    Today they will decide if they move to camp I tomorrow, depending on the weather.

    Mili said that the group wanted to wish Merry Christmas for their families.

  • Plaza Argentina

    Plaza Argentina

    AP 3 Dec 17 – Jan 5

    After a 3 day hike, the team arrived to Plaza Argentina (base camp 13,900 ft) yesterday. All of them are well!

    They will take advantage of the comforts of Base Camp to rest and work on acclimatization. The team will also start planning the first steps in height, carry to camp I.

    The group called from Casa de Piedra, the second camp in the approach to the Base Camp through Puntas de Vacas valley.

    Yesterday, in Pampa de Leña, they enjoyed a traditional argentine asado prepare for the arrieros.

    The weather looks good for the coming days so we hope they will have a pleasant walk to the base camp.

  • The team left the city

    The team left the city

    AP 3 Dec 17 – Jan 5

    After taste steak and mendocinian Malbec last night, our third group of this season is in the lodge at Penitentes, where they are going to spend a night, waiting to start their 3-day hike to base camp tomorrow.

    The team is run by the experienced local guides Mili, Seba and Guillermo. Nine climbers and three guides began an experience that will surely change their lives. We wish them the best!

    This is a big team and we are sure that they are going to have great time on the mountain.
