Now they will complete the Aconcagua traverse, by going down by a different route to the base camp of the normal route, Plaza de Mulas. And after that they will go down to the city of Mendoza to rest and have a celebration dinner.

Congratulations to the group and the guides for the great effort!

Resting for move to Camp I

    AP 7 – Jan 7 – Jan 26

The team carried the loads to Camp I (15,750 ft.) yesterday. The guide said that everyone did well and are adapting to the high altitude.  Everybody is fine.

They decided to rest today and move to that camp tomorrow. This stage of the climb is very important, because it is when the climbers complete the acclimatization process.

From here they will do carries to higher altitudes, then sleeping at lower altitude, and just then moving to the next camp, where they will rest, carry again, then move up.
