  • Back in Mendoza!

    A.P. 2 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    We were glad to welcome everyone back to the city, after their amazing trip to the mountains.

    Yesterday the group had dinner together, sharing it with another expedition. They tasted a typical Argentinian barbecue, paired with great local wines.

    After all those days spent together, the group got the chance to share a delicious meal, before going back home.

    The pictures below show them on their way to the summit and enjoying dinner yesterday.

  • They reached the summit!

    A.P. 2 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    After a great effort and working hard, they got to the summit! A unique and unforgettable experience!

    They stood on top of the highest mountain of America and the highest point out of the Himalayas, with an altitude of 22,834′.

    After this, they hiked down to High Camp to spend the night there, before descending tomorrow the Normal Route towards Plaza de Mulas Base Camp.

  • Successful move to High Camp and getting ready for tomorrow!

    After working hard as they moved uphill, the team reached High Camp today at 19,200′.

    They will rest there, as they are getting ready to tackle the summit tomorrow!

    They are all fine and planning to leave early in the morning.

    We are looking forward to having more news soon, we will keep you updated!

  • At Camp 2 and ready for High Camp

    A.P. 2 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    The team called to say they successfully moved to Camp 2 yesterday. They rested there today.

    They also told us they are planning to move to High Camp tomorrow.

    The picture attached was taken during a previous trip.

    We are excited to follow their next steps, we will keep you posted.

  • Merry Christmas!

    A.P. 2 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    The group left Base Camp and moved to Camp 1 today.

    They are all fine and working hard. The whole team wishes Merry Christmas to their families and friends.

    We are attaching a picture that shows them at Base Camp, minutes before they left towards Camp 1.

    The photos below show the group sharing a meal with another team last night at Base Camp.

  • The team carried to Camp 1

    A.P. 2 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    The group woke up and after having breakfast, they carried some loads to Camp 1.

    Then, they went back to Base Camp to spend the night. They will rest there tomorrow before moving to Camp 1.

  • Base Camp!

    A.P. 2 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    After hiking for 3 days along the approach trail, the group arrived at Plaza Argentina Base Camp today at 13,800′.

    They hiked up the Vacas and Ameghino Valleys, spending the first night at Pampa de Leñas and the second one at Casa de Piedra.

    We received a satellite phone call from Rolo, the lead guide, saying the team will be resting at Base Camp tomorrow.

  • The journey starts!

    A.P. 2 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    After spending the night at Penitentes, the group started the approach trail today.

    A van took them to the trailhead at Punta de Vacas. Ready for the adventure, they began this 3-day hike. It is approximately 40 kilometers long, so it will allow them to get a good acclimatization on their way uphill.

    The trail is filled with amazing views and beautiful landscapes, where they will be able to appreciate the typical local flora and fauna.

    This is just the beginning of their long-awaited expedition! As soon as we get more news, we will be posting them.

  • Another great team is ready to start!

    A.P. 2 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    The group left the city today and is starting the astonishing journey into the mountains!

    They will spend the night at Penitentes and tomorrow they will be ready to begin the 3-day hike towards Plaza Argentina Base Camp at 13,800′, with two great guides leading them. Rolo Abaca is their lead guide, assisted by Adrián Jiménez.

    As you can see in the picture below, yesterday there was a meeting with the whole group. They will be spending a lot of time together the next days, so it was a great opportunity to introduce themselves and get to know each other. Also, Rolo explained the itinerary, detailing each day of the expedition.

    We will be posting more news, as we receive satellite phone calls from the guides. We are excited to here from them soon!
