  • Celebrating a great trip!

    A.P. 3 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    The team went back to the city, after their unforgettable adventure!

    They enjoyed a typical barbecue with another expedition last night. They also tasted some great local wines.

    It was a great moment to share stories and enjoy the night together, after all the moments spent up in the mountains.

    We are attaching pictures of them at dinner yesterday.

  • Success! This season all of our expeditions have summited so far!

    A.P. 3 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    They successfully reached the summit today, enjoying this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

    They got to the highest point of the whole American continent and the highest mountain out of the Himalayas at 22,834′. This is a big achievement they will always remember!

    After spending some time at the summit, they hiked down to High Camp, getting a deserved rest there. Tomorrow they will continue descending towards Plaza de Mulas Base Camp.

    Congratulations to them!

  • Ready for summit day!

    A.P. 3 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    The team successfully moved from Camp 2 to High Camp today. They are now at 19,200′.

    They are planning to go to the summit tomorrow!

    They will rest at High Camp and get ready for a long and challenging day.

    As soon as we hear from them, we will let you know.

  • Already at Camp 2

    A.P. 3 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    The group moved to Camp 2 yesterday. They rested there today, paying special attention to stay hydrated, as this is very important in the acclimatization process.

    They will be moving to High Camp tomorrow.

    Looking forward to hearing from them soon!

  • Successful move to Camp 1 on Christmas Day!

    A.P. 3 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    The team moved to Camp 1 today. Although they are far from home, they want to wish a Merry Christmas to their families and loved ones.

    We are posting pictures of the team having dinner yesterday at Plaza Argentina Base Camp, a meal that they shared with another group.

  • Resting at Base Camp, after carrying to Camp 1

    A.P. 3 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    We got a satellite phone call from Sebastián, the lead guide, who told us the plan for the next days.

    The group carried loads to Camp 1 today and hiked down to Base Camp to spend the night.

    They are planning to rest one day there and after that, move to Camp 1.

  • The team is at Base Camp!

    A.P. 3 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    They made it safely to Plaza Argentina Base Camp at 13,800′.

    Yesterday, they arrived at Casa de Piedra and spent the night there. After that, they continued hiking up, arriving at Base Camp today.

    They completed the 3-day approach hike, which is approximately 40 kilometers long. This is great to start getting a good acclimatization as they gain altitude. Tomorrow they will rest at Base Camp.

  • On their way to Base Camp!

    Today it was a big day. After having breakfast, the expedition was about to begin and everyone was excited about it. The team was ready to start hiking.

    They went to Punta de Vacas, where the hike starts. The trail features amazing scenery, making this a unique experience.

    Pampa de Leñas is their first stop, spending the night there. After this, they will continue towards Casa de Piedra, their second stop before Base Camp.

    The picture shows the team at the trailhead this morning, right before they started walking.

  • The adventure begins!

    A.P. 3 Dec. 17 – Jan. 5

    The team is ready to start the trip!

    After the group got their permits to enter the Aconcagua park, the guides loaded the van with all the gear and everyone jumped into it, ready for the adventure!

    They enjoyed the scenery on their way to Penitentes, where they will spend the night. After packing everything, they will be ready to start the approach trail tomorrow morning.

    This 3-day hike, filled with amazing views, is approximately 40 kilometers long and will take them to Plaza Argentina Base Camp at 13,800′.

    The team is led by Sebastián Satke and assisted by the guide Matías Nestares and the apprentice José Purto.

    As shown in the picture below, the group shared a meal together last night, paired with a good local wine.

    Also, we are sharing a video that we just received from Sebastián, the lead guide, where you can see how everything is getting ready at Penitentes.
