    A.P. 5 Dec. 27 – Jan. 7

    They reached the summit! After a long and challenging day, they successfully got to the top of the highest mountain of America at 22,834′. An experience they will always remember!

    This 12-day expedition went uphill, working hard and moving fast.

    Now they are already back at Plaza de Mulas Base Camp, ready to start their way down to Mendoza.

    Congratulations to them for such a great achievement!

  • High Camp!

    A.P. 5 Dec. 27 – Jan. 7

    We spoke with Julián, the lead guide, who told us the team reached Nido de Cóndores Camp yesterday. He also added that they were moving to High Camp today at 19,200′.

    They are all fine, working hard as they move uphill.

    Looking forward to hearing more news from them! We will keep you posted.

  • Moving to Canada Camp today

    A.P. 5 Dec. 27 – Jan. 7

    The team carried some loads to Canada Camp yesterday and hiked down to Base Camp, where they spent the night.

    We spoke with Julián, the lead guide, who said they were ready to move to Canada Camp today.

    We are excited to hear more news from them soon!

  • They are at Base Camp!

    A.P. 5 Dec. 27 – Jan. 7

    The group reached Confluencia Camp yesterday and spent the night there.

    Today they continued hiking along the Horcones Valley, reaching Plaza de Mulas Base Camp at 13,800′.

    Julián, the lead guide, called to give us these news and said they are planning to rest there tomorrow.

  • Aconcagua in 12 days!

    A.P. 5 Dec. 27 – Jan. 7

    The team left the city early this morning. They were ready to start the trip, very excited about the upcoming days!

    This expedition will only last 12 days, as they came here already pre-acclimatized, using an Altitude Training System with a hypoxic tent.

    They will be ascending the Normal Route, hiking towards Confluencia Camp along the Horcones Valley. After spending the night there, the group will head to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp tomorrow. The photo above shows them at the trailhead, ready to begin the hike.

    Their lead guide, Julián Castro, will keep us updated calling us with a satellite phone.

    As you can see in the picture below, the four climbers and their guide shared a meal last night, tasting some delicious steak.
