    A.P. 6 (Jan. 5 – 24, 2019)

    What a success! The whole team got to the summit of Aconcagua today!

    After a challenging day, they reached the top of the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere at 22,834′. This is a great achievement and a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

    They are spending the night at High Camp, before going down to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp tomorrow. They will go back to Mendoza the following day.

    Congratulations to them!

    The team left Camp 2 and moved to High Camp. They reached an altitude of 19,200′.

    It was cold and windy but they worked hard and got safely there today.

    Pablo, the lead guide, told us they will go to the summit tomorrow, leaving early in the morning.

    Looking forward to a great summit day!

    The team rested at Camp 2 today.

    They are doing a great job and getting a good acclimatization at 17,500′. They are planning to move to High Camp tomorrow.

    Successful move to Camp 2

    The team left Camp 1 today and moved to Camp 2 at 17,500′.

    They might rest there tomorrow or carry to High Camp. They will be planning the upcoming days according to the weather conditions.

    The group moved to Camp 1 yesterday.

    We spoke with Pablo, the lead guide, who told us it’s been windy up there but they are all fine.

    They are planning to move to Camp 2 tomorrow.

    The group is resting at Plaza Argentina Base Camp today.

    They carried to Camp 1 yesterday, getting to 16,300′. Later, the team returned to Base Camp to spend the night.

    The team finished the 3-day approach hike and successfully got to Plaza Argentina Base Camp yesterday.

    They are now at 13,800′. The group is fine and getting used to the altitude.

    The team spent their first night at Pampa de Leñas and today they continued to Casa de Piedra, where they are spending the night.

    They will hike towards Base Camp tomorrow.

    They started the approach hike!

    A.P. 6 (Jan. 5 – 24, 2019)

    The group left the hotel in Penitentes this morning. They stopped at the rangers’ office to show the permits to enter the Aconcagua park and then, the adventure began!

    The 3-day hike along the Vacas and Ameghino Valleys is full of beautiful landscapes with local flora and fauna. The team will gain altitude everyday until they reach Plaza Argentina Base Camp.

    The mountains await them!

    The climbers had a meeting with the guides yesterday. Later, they had dinner together, sharing great stories.

    Today the group left the city and was taken to Penitentes. They will start the 3-day approach hike tomorrow.

    Their lead guide is Pablo Goldengruss, who is assisted by Carlos Scellato. They will call us with a satellite phone to keep us informed.
