    Carry to Camp 1

    A.P. 5 (Jan. 5 – 24, 2019)

    The team successfully carried some loads to Camp 1 yesterday. They reached 16,300′.

    After that, they went back down to Base Camp. The group is spending the day there. This plan will give them the opportunity to get a good acclimatization.

  • Summit!

    Summit!

    A.P. 4 (Dec. 28, 2018 – Jan. 16, 2019)

    After a long tough day, they reached the top of America! What an unforgettable experience!

    They worked hard and got to the summit of Aconcagua today, standing at 22,834′. This is the highest peak out of the Himalayas.

    They are now going down to High Camp to spend the night. Tomorrow they will continue to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp along the Normal Route.

    A.P. 4 (Dec. 28, 2018 – Jan. 16, 2019)

    The team left Camp 2 and reached High Camp today, they are now at 19,200′.

    They are fine and planning to go to the summit tomorrow. The group is getting ready for a challenging day.

  • Base Camp!

    Base Camp!

    A.P. 6 (Jan. 5 – 24, 2019)

    The team finished the 3-day approach hike and successfully got to Plaza Argentina Base Camp yesterday.

    They are now at 13,800′. The group is fine and getting used to the altitude.

    The team is at Base Camp!

    A.P. 5 (Jan. 5 – 24, 2019)

    After spending three days hiking along the Vacas and Ameghino Valleys, they got to Plaza Argentina Base Camp yesterday, reaching an altitude of 13,800′.

    The group is feeling fine and motivated. The guides sent us a great picture of them during the approach.

    The team spent their first night at Pampa de Leñas and today they continued to Casa de Piedra, where they are spending the night.

    They will hike towards Base Camp tomorrow.

  • 3-day approach hike

    3-day approach hike

    A.P. 5 (Jan. 5 – 24, 2019)

    The team is spending their second night at Casa de Piedra.

    When we spoke with Sebastián, the lead guide, he told us the group was fine with their tents ready and about to have dinner.

    Tomorrow they will continue to Base Camp.

  • They reached Camp 2

    They reached Camp 2

    A.P. 4 (Dec. 28, 2018 – Jan. 16, 2019)

    The team carried to Camp 2 yesterday and returned to Camp 1 to spend the night.

    Today the group woke up and after having breakfast, they successfully moved to Camp 2, reaching an altitude of 17,500′.

    We spoke with Rolo, the lead guide, who said they will rest there tomorrow.

  • They started the approach hike!

    They started the approach hike!

    A.P. 6 (Jan. 5 – 24, 2019)

    The group left the hotel in Penitentes this morning. They stopped at the rangers’ office to show the permits to enter the Aconcagua park and then, the adventure began!

    The 3-day hike along the Vacas and Ameghino Valleys is full of beautiful landscapes with local flora and fauna. The team will gain altitude everyday until they reach Plaza Argentina Base Camp.

    The group left Penitentes and went to Punta de Vacas, where the trailhead is located.

    After showing their permits to enter the Aconcagua park, they were ready to begin the hike!

    They are spending three days along the approach trail that will take them to Plaza Argentina Base Camp.

    The team will spend the night at Pampa de Leñas and continue to Casa de Piedra tomorrow morning.
