Another expedition to the highest mountain in America

    A.P. 4 (Dec. 28, 2018 – Jan. 16, 2019)

We were glad to meet this motivated group of climbers in Mendoza! We went to the office that issues the permits to enter the Aconcagua park, which gave us the opportunity to walk along the city.

All their gear was checked by the guides and we had a group meeting yesterday to go through all the expedition’s details.

This team is led by Rolo Abaca, who is assisted by Andrés Paviglianiti and the apprentice guide Erich Roepke.

Today they left the city and went to Penitentes at 8,500′. They will spend the night at a hotel there and tomorrow they will start the 3-day approach hike to Base Camp.

They are taking a satellite phone with them, so we will have more news soon!
