    A.P. 6 (Jan. 4 – Jan. 23)

    They got to the summit today!

    Sebastián, the lead guide, called us to say the team got to the top.

    We are happy to announce that all our trips have so far reached the summit this season.

    They stood at the highest peak in America at 22,834′. It was a challenging day, but they worked hard and did a great job.

    They are now back at High Camp. Tomorrow they will go down to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp.

    Congratulations for this big achievement!

    The team successfully moved to High Camp today, reaching an altitude of 19,200′.

    They are doing a great job up there and they are ready to tackle the summit tomorrow!

    The team carried some loads to High Camp yesterday and returned to Camp 2.

    Everyone is fine and they are taking a rest day at Camp 2 today.

    Move to Camp 2

    A.P. 6 (Jan. 4 – Jan. 23)

    The team successfully moved to Camp 2 yesterday.

    They are now at 17,500′. The group is fine and getting used to the altitude as they move uphill.

    The team carried some loads to Camp 2 today.

    We spoke with Sebastián, the lead guide, who said everyone is fine and motivated. They are already back at Camp 1 to spend the night.

    Camp 1

    A.P. 6 (Jan. 4 – Jan. 23)

    The team rested at Base Camp yesterday and today they successfully moved to Camp 1, which is located at 16,300′.

    They are fine and the guides will plan the next days according to the weather conditions.

    After resting at Base Camp yesterday, the group was ready to carry some loads to Camp 1 this morning.

    They went up there and later they returned to Base Camp to spend the night. They are fine and getting used to the altitude.

    The team finished the 3-day approach hike and arrived to Plaza Argentina Base Camp today, which is located at 14,200′.

    The group is fine and taking a rest day there tomorrow.

  • Approach hike to Base Camp

    Approach hike to Base Camp

    A.P. 6 (Jan. 4 – Jan. 23)

    The team started the 3-day approach hike yesterday, spending their first night in the mountains at Pampa de Leñas. The trail gains altitude progressively, which is great for the acclimatization process.

    Today they are going to Casa de Piedra, the last stop before Base Camp.

  • Another expedition begins!

    Another expedition begins!

    A.P. 6 (Jan. 4 – Jan. 23)

    We welcomed this motivated team yesterday. They had their gear checked by the guides and got the permits to enter the Aconcagua park. They also had a group meeting and shared a tasty dinner together.

    Today the group left the city and went to Penitentes to spend the night.

    Tomorrow they will start the 3-day approach hike to Base Camp, filled with wonderful views. The trail goes along the Vacas and Ameghino Valleys.

    The team is led by Sebastián Ruiz, who is assisted by Florencia Torres. They are taking a satellite phone with them to call us.
