  • Carry to Camp 1

    Carry to Camp 1

    A.P. 1 (Jan. 4 – 15, 2022)

The team did a carry to Camp 1 today. After a good rest at Base Camp, they successfully carried a load to Camp 1.

There they cached the loads and descended down to Base Camp with empty packs to spend the night. The following morning could be a possible rest day or a move to Camp 1. This will depend on how the group did the previous day, how they are doing now and on the weather.

The two pictures were taken today by the team, an absolutely beautiful day!

  • Base Camp!

    Base Camp!

    A.P. 1 (Jan. 4 – 15, 2022)

Team arrives today to Base Camp!

They are all doing fine and got already to 13,800 feet! The 12-day Aconcagua fast ascents are rocking nowadays!

They will spend about 3 nights at Base Camp.

The first day in Base Camp is always a rest day and a good occasion to take a bath and go for a short walk. They will divide the expedition loads to carry to the next camp: community gear, fuel, food and individual lunches. After resting at Base Camp, the plan will be to carry to Camp 1 and down to Base Camp again to hopefully move up the next day.

Team is healthy and excited to be among the first groups to tackle the giant of the Americas this season!

First of all we want to CONGRATULATE all our clients for making this trip possible, for their courage, support and strong desire to climb the mountain, pioneering a new era on Aconcagua and being among the first ones to climb the mountain after 23 months without any traffic.

Here are some pics of the group having dinner last night and departing this morning from the Hyatt with our classic picture at the Mendoza Park Hyatt’s main entrance.
